Summer Skills is a fee-free* short course program for young people, 16 – 24 years of age to develop job ready skills over the coming summer months.

FAST TRACK YOUR CAREER WITH FEE-FREE* TRAINING

The Summer Skills short courses are fee-free* for eligible students and are subsidised by the NSW Government as part of the JobTrainer Initiative. The Skilling for Recovery Training Initiative is part of a matched funding commitment of almost $320 million between the NSW and Australian Governments under the JobTrainer Fund.

Whether you’re looking for a job, want to change jobs or you plan to start work after school, go to university or college or enjoy a gap year, the Summer Skills short courses give you the skills to get a job and earn some money while you pursue your goals!

WHAT COURSES CAN I CHOOSE FROM?

We have put together several units to provide a Statement of Attainment in subjects such as Individual Support, Disability, Team Leader, Executive Assistant Skills, Executive Assistant, and Commercial Cookery.

HOW ARE THE COURSES RUN?

These short courses are conducted either online or in small face to face classes. Specific information about how each course is delivered, and the assessments can be found in the course information flyers below.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY RULES?

If you are aged between 16 – 24 years old, you may apply for entry into the Summer Skills courses. Specific eligibility rules can be found at https://education.nsw.gov.au/campaigns/summer-skills.
