ENROL HERE FOR FULLY FUNDED RSA TRAINING
& GET THE SKILLS FOR THE JOB!
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, our Smart and Skilled RSA classes will be conducted via a ‘Virtual Classroom’. This means that the class will be a one-day class, conducted electronically and trainer-led using a computer program such as ZOOM or Teams or Skype. To facilitate the training and make it easier for you, we will be programming the ‘Virtual Classrooms’ on different days and times which we will advise you of following confirmation of your enrolment.
Each class is 6 hours in duration.
All participants must complete a Smart and Skilled Enrolment Form and have a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) plus 100 Points of Identification. The Enrolment Application Form, 100 Points of Identification Checklist and a USI Application Form are available on this website. Please download the form and email it back to email@example.com together with copies of your I.D.
The USI is a unique number allocated to a person who enrols in any formal training course in Australia. If you do not already have a USI, you can apply for one yourself or, alternatively, we can - with your permission - assist you with obtaining one. If you need us to help you with obtaining a USI, please return the USI Application Form together with the Enrolment Form and ID documents and we can then apply for a USI for you – it’s a very simple process.
COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND INTERNET REQUIREMENTS
Participants are required to have basic computer skills to access the Virtual Classroom, as well as having access to a computer and the internet.
Students will also need to have access to a webcam connected to your computer, or a laptop with a built-in camera. You will need the following:
Computer with keyboard and monitor or laptop
Access to a Webcam or built-in camera
Multimedia speakers or headphones
Access to ZOOM or Microsoft Teams programs. (These are easy to install and navigate. If you have not used these before, please contact us via phone or email and we will assist in advising you how to set them up).
N.B. It is NOT recommended that participants attend the Virtual Classroom using a mobile phone as the keyboard provided with a computer offers options to ease problem-solving whereas a mobile phone does not offer this functionality.
VALIDATING STUDENT IDENTITY USING WEBCAM
During this course and in order to validate the identity of the student for whom the final certificate will be issued, Liquor & Gaming NSW require our College to confirm the identity of the student.
In order to satisfy this requirement, participants logged into the Virtual Classroom must have their video settings on and be present during the whole session/s. The Virtual Classroom sessions need to be recorded whilst the student is logged in and completing a task within the course.
CAN I WORK STRAIGHT AFTER COMPLETING MY COURSE?
Once you have completed and passed your course it will take between 24 to 48 hours for you to receive your ‘Interim Certificate’ from Liquor and Gaming NSW. This certificate will enable you to work on licenced premises for up to 90 days. During this time you must apply through Service NSW for your NSW Photo Competency Card or you will not be able to work after the 90-day period has expired.
HOW DO I GET MY NSW PHOTO COMPETENCY CARD?
After completion of the course you will receive an Interim Certificate (2 page document ). The first page allows you to legally work for 90 days. The second page is valid for 5 years and contains a bar-code. After receipt of your Interim Certificate, you must visit a participating Service NSW outlet, present your Interim Certificate along with 100 points of ID.
Service NSW will then verify your identity and a photo will be taken and added to your profile for processing. NSW Photo Competency Cards can take 3-4 weeks to be issued by NSW Liquor and Gaming You can also download the Service NSW App onto your phone and setup your Digital ID (Valid for working) on your phone typically within 24 hours of visiting Service NSW.
The cost of the card is normally $87.00. However, this cost is included as part of the NSW Government feefree* subsidy and you do not have to pay this fee to Service NSW.
Please note, due to overwhelming demand, applications will be accepted on a first come first served basis as places are very limited. There may be additional funding provided by the Government, but there is no guarantee.
