OVERSEAS STUDENT POLICY
The College is presented with an exciting opportunity in the provision of training for overseas students. The enrolment of overseas students will greatly enhance the cultural diversity of the College, which will be a great asset for the College, its Staff and all students.
The College is committed to implementing an Overseas Student Policy that adheres to its own Code of Ethics as well as general legislative requirements. The following set of principles has been developed as part of the College’s commitment to complying with the relevant ESOS framework, including the Education Services for Overseas Student Act 2000 and the National Code 2007.
1. The Illawarra Business College will provide overseas students with the highest quality accredited training befitting the excellent reputation that the College maintains.
2. College Staff are proficient and fully trained in the ethical and legislative requirements governing Overseas Students.
3. The marketing of College services to prospective Overseas Students will be accurate, truthful and culturally sensitive.
4. The College will ensure that the tuition fees and deposits paid by Overseas Students are properly handled and used.
5. Prospective Overseas Students will be assessed to determine the suitability of the College courses to the students’ aspirations.
6. The College will regularly provide students with timely, accurate and relevant information about the College courses, immigration requirements, financial information etc.
7. The recruitment of Overseas Students will comply with all Equal Opportunity requirements and relevant legislation.
8. The College will provide special student support services for Overseas Students to meet the special cultural, linguistic and religious needs that Overseas Students may have.
9. Overseas Students will ensure that students have access to and information about proper grievance procedures.
10. The College will regularly monitor and assess the provision of training to Overseas Students to ensure that the above policies have been successfully implemented.
The following policies govern the enrolment of Overseas Students at The Illawarra Business College. Abiding by these policies is a condition of students’ enrolment at the College (as set out in students’ agreement with the College).
Student entry requirements, selection and induction
The College is committed to ensuring students select courses and training services which appropriately match their needs, qualifications, experience and academic goals. To this end, the College has developed a policy to ensure that students are aware of entry requirements and an appropriate selection process is adopted.

Addition conditions to enrolment may be noted on your letter of offer. Remember that acceptance of any course offered to overseas students is conditional on the applicant satisfying the requirements and conditions of the Australian Governments’ student visas.
Overseas Student Health Cover
A student visa cannot be issued unless Overseas Student Health Cover has been taken out.
Students must notify the College of any medical condition of which the centre should be aware at the time of enrolling.
Fees
A non-refundable registration fee of AUD $200 is payable on acceptance of an offer of enrolment as well as full 12 months tuition fees prior to course commencement.

Cancellations and Refunds
Students wishing to apply for refunds, must lodge a written refund application in the approved form with the College.

Attendance
Students are required to attend at least 80% of scheduled course contact hours. Failure to meet the College’s attendance requirements may result in a student being reported to the Australian Government.

Change Of Address
Students must advise the College of any change in their personal details or address immediately.
Suspension
The College may suspend or cancel a student’s enrolment as a result of student misbehaviour.
